Preamble

Whereas, the top level of the executive in the current law are very confusing,

Whereas, this subject opens room to much shenanigans and mistakes,

THE SENATE OF SIMDEMOCRACY PROCLAIMS

Article 1 - Implementation

§1. This act shall be inserted into the Executive Act of 2023 or other relevant legislation.

Article 2 - Definitions

§1. A Deputy Executive Officer is a person who directly reports to an Executive Officer.

§2. An “acting” version of any position shall be legally distinct from the actual position.

Article 3 - Deputy Executive Officers

§1. A Deputy Executive Officer shall not be able to be directly appointed by members of the executive branch except as described in §1.2.

§1.1. A Deputy Executive Officer may be selected based on a process described elsewhere given that it does not contradict §1.
§1.2. As an exemption to §1, a Deputy Executive Officer may be directly appointed by their direct superior non-Acting Executive Officer.
§1.3. In emergency situations, the president can elect to nominate a Deputy Executive Officer with the same process as their direct superior Executive Officer.

§2. Deputy Executive Officers shall serve as acting versions of the Executive Officers that they serve under in the event that the Executive Officer position is vacant.

§2.1. In the case of multiple Deputy Executive Officers serving under an Executive Officer, the order of succession may be determined elsewhere, with Deputy Executive Officer positions created through legislation or EOs coming last.
