Commerce Actualizations (Amendment) Act
Amendment to the Commerce Actualizations Act
Preamble
Whereas the Secretary of Economy has not acted upon the Commerce Actualizations Act as written.
Whereas the Bureau of Commerce Statistics needs to be an agency under the Department of Treasury.
Article I: Specific Amendments
§1. Article II § 2 shall be stricken and shall now read: “A new position shall be created, called the BoCS Director.”
§2. A new section, called “§2.2.”, shall be created in the Article II and shall read: “The head of the Bureau of Commerce Statistics will be the BoCS Director.”
§3. Article II § 2.1 shall be stricken and shall now read: “The BoCS Director will report directly to the Secretary of Treasury unless instructed otherwise by said Secretary.”
§4. Article II § 3.1 shall be stricken and shall now read: “Each division shall have a Division Director, nominated by either the President or the Secretary of Treasury.”
§5. A new section, called “§3.2.”, shall be created in Article II and shall read: “The BoCS Director shall be nominated by the Director of Treasury and then confirmed by the Senate.”
§6. Article III § 2 shall be stricken and shall now read: “The BoCS Director will be updated by the relevant staffers within the bureau on all aspects of the job market and general economy.”
§7. Article III § 2.1 shall be stricken and shall now read: “The Secretary of Treasury will use the information and data learned in these briefings to inform the President on a consistent basis of the health of the working class and economy so they may make informed decisions meant to benefit the citizens.”
§8. Article III § 3.1 shall be stricken and shall now read: “The BoCS Director shall determine and employ the best method to perform this data collection and updating, given that all BoCS data will be accessible through the r/SimDemocracy subreddit or SimDemocracy wiki.”
§9. Article V § 2 shall be stricken and shall now read: “The Secretary of Treasury may decide which way is best to store the information collected by the Division of Business in Article VI §1.1 for departmental purposes.”
§10. Article VI § 1 shall be stricken and shall now read “Any person wishing to create a new business after the enactment of this Act shall apply for a business license through the appropriate channel, as reasonably determined by the Secretary of Treasury or another appropriate body (e.g. President, Chief of Staff).”
§11. Article VII § 2.1 shall be stricken and shall now read: “Upon submission of such requisite documentation, the Business Division and Department of Treasury shall grant the submitting business non-profit status.”

§12. Article XII § 2 shall be stricken and shall now read: “Any change to the Registry without the BoCS Director’s approval is hereby illegal and may result in a criminal investigation of the BoCS Director or any other individual responsible for the change.
§13. Article XII § 3 shall be stricken and shall now read: “Any false or misleading information in the Registry approved by the BoCS Director may result in a criminal investigation of the BoCS Director.
§14. Article XII § 4 shall be stricken and shall now read: “Any purposeful falsification of information in the Registry by one or more of the employees or officers of the Department of Treasury is hereby illegal and shall result in a criminal lawsuit against said employees or officers.
Article II: Implementation
§1. This Act shall become effective immediately upon passage.
