Recognizing the necessity of maintaining a safe, respectful, and orderly environment on our digital platforms, this bill seeks to grant the President moderator privileges on the Discord server, associated territory Discords, and the community's subreddit. This grant of privileges is intended to empower the President to effectively oversee and safeguard the community's digital spaces without altering or creating community laws or policies.
Section 1: Grant of Moderator Privileges
§1. General Moderation: The President shall be granted moderator privileges across the community’s Discord server, associated territory Discords, and subreddit. This grant includes the ability to:
- Monitor discussions and interactions to ensure they adhere to community standards and guidelines.
- Remove or edit messages and posts that violate community rules or are deemed harmful.
Repealed
- Ban or mute users who persistently disrupt the community or violate its guidelines.[1]
- Manage user roles and permissions within the scope of maintaining order and supporting community engagement.
- Pin important messages or announcements to facilitate communication and highlight significant information.
- Delegate any of these powers to other users.
§2. Engagement and Communication: The President, utilizing their moderator status, is encouraged to engage with the community actively, promoting constructive dialogue, addressing concerns, and fostering a positive community culture.
Section 2: Responsibilities and Ethics
- Ethical Moderation: The President or their agents are expected to moderate impartially and with integrity, ensuring their actions align with SimDemocracy Law and the principles of fairness and respect.
- Transparency and Accountability: While moderating, the President or their agents should strive for transparency, explaining their actions when feasible and engaging with the community to address any concerns about moderation practices.
Section 3: Limitations
- No Policy Creation or Law Alteration: The moderator privileges granted by this bill do not include the authority to create, alter, or enact community laws or policies. Such powers remain the purview of the community's legislative body or process.
- The President or agents may not be given permission to modify Legislative or Judicial channels nor the archives
Section 4: Implementation and Oversight
- Immediate Implementation: This bill shall be implemented immediately upon passage, granting the President the specified moderator privileges.
- Oversight by the Supreme Court: The Supreme Court is tasked with overseeing the President's moderation actions, ensuring adherence to the ethical and operational standards set forth in this bill. The Court will review complaints or concerns regarding moderation practices and may issue recommendations or directives to ensure compliance with community standards.
