Article One: Establishment of the OHS
- The Office of Homeland Security shall be established as an executive agency within, and under the authority of, the Department of Justice.
- The Office of Homeland Security shall act with the authority granted to the President to enforce the law of the land, and the authority of the Attorney General to investigate criminal activity.
- The Office of Homeland Security may be referred to and abbreviated to “OHS.”
Article Two: Director of the OHS
- The Office of Homeland Security shall be led by the Director of the Department of Homeland Security.
- The Director of the Office of Homeland Security shall act with the authority of the President and Attorney General and may dictate the operational and structural function of the OHS.
- The Director of the Office of Homeland Security shall be appointed by the Attorney General, who may dismiss them for any reason.
Article Three: Role of the OHS
- The Office of Homeland Security shall protect SimDem from external threats, foreign foes, and hostile aliens.
- The Office of Homeland Security shall have no role in internal policing except for cases involving Recent Aliens or in which Hostile Foreign Action is suspected.
- “Recent Aliens” shall be defined as members of the SimDem that have arrived seven days ago or fewer.
- “Hostile Foreign Action” shall be defined as activity, behavior, or circumstances that are believed to be caused, ordered, or directed by a foreign state or hostile group.
- Members of the Office of Homeland Security shall have jurisdiction to enforce the law upon “Recent Aliens” or persons suspected to be involved in “Hostile Foreign Action.”
- Investigations opened by the Office of Homeland Security shall be known only to the Office of Homeland Security, the President, the Vice President, and the Attorney General.
- The Office of Homeland Security may act in defense of the state at the direction of the President or Attorney General while remaining within the law of the land.
- The Office of Homeland Security shall not investigate citizens of SimDem who are not “Recent Aliens” or persons suspected to be involved in “Hostile Foreign Action” and shall not interfere with the lives, prosperity, or enjoyment of the community.
- The results of all investigations, including all evidence, shall be turned over to the Attorney General for possible arrest or prosecution.
